Last year I caught Sammy’s CRAZY TIMES tour with George Thorogood as the opening act. Of course, we had to stop by the T-shirt stand to pick up some swag.

We had amazing seats, centered and super close to the stage.

Here’s George Thorogood. He ended his set with BAD TO THE BONE.

When Sammy hit the stage, it became abundantly clear that at age 74 he still sounds great. They played a nice mix of Sammy Solo and Van Halen hits.

Sammy harmonizing with Mike’s background vocals was always an important part of Van Halen’s sound when Sammy was with the group, and we were treated to this throughout the show on songs such as TOP OF THE WORLD, WHY CAN’T THIS BE LOVE, RIGHT NOW, and many others.

For Sammy’s solo, he did his classic EAGLES FLY.

Vic Johnson’s lightning-fast guitar work was on dazzling display. It’s no easy feat having to step in for Eddie Van Halen on these songs, but Vic was up to the task.

And Jason Bonham killed it on the drums.
A show to remember!
