Seventh-grader Bly snares herself into a web of cheating and lies as she attempts to give her parents the impression that she is measuring up to their expectations. A super lovable character, I was rooting for her to find a way out of the mess she gets herself into and felt inspired by the story’s outcome.
Short chapters, a brisk pace, and Bly’s fun voice will keep readers engaged from beginning to end.
Funny, suspenseful, hopeful, and contains an important message, this is a perfect read for middle school students and for those who will be in middle school in the next couple of years. Not to mention, I think many parents of tweens would benefit by reading this.
