HasLab Skystriker (2023)

The first HasLab project for the Joes arrived in January 2023 – the iconic Skystriker jet and seven exclusive vintage style figures (3.75 inches with o-rings).

HasLab needed 10,000 preorders before they would move forward with production, and they received over 15,000 by the deadline.

Let’s put it together!

It’s similar to other Skystriker releases from over the years. From left to right we have the 1983 original, the 2023 HasLab, and the 2012 version.

Here’s some other views of the three variations. What beauties!

Part of the packaging can unfold into a runway.

It also comes with a vehicle that provides fuel and hauls missiles.

The seats are removable and have parachutes.

There are blast-effect pieces for the ejection seats, weapons, and thrusters. It also comes with a stand that makes it look nice on display.

Uh-oh. Ripcord is trapped in a tree after punching out.

There are several sticker options so it can be customized for various characters. You can even make it a Cobra jet.

I haven’t put any stickers on mine yet. It looks great as is, and I haven’t decided which character I’m going to customize it for, though I’m leaning toward Snake-Eyes.

Here we have it in the wings-swept-back mode.

The previous Skystrikers had the landing gear tied to this wing feature. When the wings go back, the landing gear goes up, which makes it impossible to have the wings out with the landing gear up.

Thankfully, Hasbro corrected this problem with this new version and the wings and landing gear features are separate.

Sturdier plastic, a display stand, blast effect pieces, the additional fuel vehicle, separate wing and landing gear mechanisms – this is easily the best Skystriker ever made.

  1. That’s easily the best version they’ve made so far! Cool they separated the landing gear.
