The three stars, known for their guitar shredding instrumental albums, first teamed up for a tour in 1996, and hit the road together again earlier this year for a limited number of shows. Here are some pics of the one we caught.

Steve Vai played first, followed by Eric Johnson.

Then Joe did his set, which was the highlight of the show for me. For the final set, all three played together, sharing the stage, which was a lot of fun.

I picked up a shirt

and poster.

Joe and Vai did more shows together following this as a separate “Satch/Vai” tour. I guess Eric was only available for so many dates and the other two wanted to keep going.
Not long after the Satch/Vai tour, Joe joined Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, and Jason Bonham for the “Best of All Worlds” tour in which they’re mostly playing Van Halen songs. This is currently happening and yes, we’ve got tickets!
This is a busy touring year for Joe!
*February 3, 2025 Update:
On January 31, 2025, a double disc album was released that was recorded live during this tour a few days after the show we saw.

Here’s some pictures from the booklet.

A great way to document this fantastic show!
