Indiana Jones Retro Figures (2023)

With DIAL OF DESTINY hitting theaters this year, Hasbro released new Indy toys for the first time since 2008 when KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL debuted. One of the new lines is the Retro Collection which are recreations of the original Kenner figures and packaging from the ’80s.

The first wave of the Retro Collection came out in April – five figures.

Following the initial wave, they released a few more from TEMPLE OF DOOM and LAST CRUSADE.

These figures from DOOM and CRUSADE are not reproductions of older figures since no 3.75-inch figures were originally made from those films, but they’re in the style of the original RAIDERS toy-line. I haven’t found Short Round or Henry Jones Sr. as of yet.

Here are comparisons to the original 1982-83 figures with the re-releases on the right. Sadly, I don’t have an original backer card for Indy and Belloq.

As you can see, the Retro Collection is very similar to the originals. Nice!

My only complaint is I wish they had made a lot more characters for this line. Would have loved Mola Ram, Vogel, and many others in this retro style.

Hasbro also made another Indy line of figures this year that are 6-inches and have super great face sculpts, resembling Harrison Ford and the other actors quite a bit. This line is called the Adventure Series, and we’ll take a look at these in an upcoming post.
