Okay! Today we continue our talk about the six new 2018 STAR WARS Vintage Collection figures.
I’m leaving Rey and the First Order Stormtrooper in the package for now, but let’s take a closer look at Snoke, Kylo Ren, Jyn Erso, and the Hoth Rebel Soldier.
Here’s the original Snoke figure from last year compared to Vintage Collection Snoke:
Vintage Collection Snoke has real fabric for the robe and much more articulation.
Even the ankles have articulation, which comes in handy if you want to pretend Snoke is a ballet dancer.
Vintage Collection Kylo Ren is superior to the original 2015 figure, again with real fabric and much more articulation.
VC Kylo also comes with both a lit lightsaber and a handle that can be hooked onto his belt.
Moving on to Jyn Erso from Rogue One. The original Jyn figure from 2016 is on the left:
As you can see, the new VC Jyn is much better. 22 points of articulation vs. 5 points will do that.
And now my favorite of these new VC figures:
That’s right – the Hoth Rebel Soldier! Please note the holster with removable laser pistol and the fabric at the bottom of the jacket.
There have been other Rebel Hoth troop figures over the years.
Starting on the left, we have the “Rebel Soldier” and “Rebel Commander” figures from 1980 and ’81. Then we have two variations from 1997. And of course on the end is our new ultra-articulated Vintage Collection one.
One more picture!
No, wait! Just one more.
So cool…
So what do you think of the new Vintage Collection figures?
Nostalgic packaging, fantastic sculpts, and superior articulation make these a huge win for Star Wars fans!
Toydust, over and out!
I like ballerina Snoke. 😂
Ballerina Snoke needs to happen. I’m thinking a new show at Disneyland…
