Cobra C.L.A.W. (2025)

Hasbro’s new Cobra C.L.A.W. for their Classified G.I. JOE line has arrived.

It comes with a Cobra Pilot figure.

The pilot figure is great, but for my outside photos I decided to go with Cobra Commander, himself.

This is my favorite figure of the commander from the Classified line. The reflective mask is pretty great, and it looks amazing flying around in the new C.L.A.W.

I believe the first public appearance of the C.L.A.W. was in Marvel’s G.I. JOE #21 in December 1983.

The issue begins with Storm Shadow flying it with a captured Scarlett toward Cobra’s “Silent Castle.”

The first C.L.A.W toy was released in 1984, so this comic predates the toy a bit, serving as a sneak peek.

The C.L.A.W. also played a significant role a few months later in issue #24, released in March 1984. (Back then, Marvel comic cover dates were three months ahead of the actual release date.)

Later, on September 10, 1984, the C.L.A.W. debuted in the animated series with The Revenge of Cobra Part 1: In the Cobra’s Pit.

A super fun vehicle!

In closing, here’s a comparison shot of this new one next to the 1984 original. Note the Joe figures from the ‘80s were 3.75 inches and today’s Classified figures are 6 inches.

COBRA!!
